Antigua’s are generally gentle cups of coffee with a chocolaty versus floral cup profile. This one is a great example. Lighter roasts will be more floral than chocolaty with some clear acidity, clean cup but enough acidity some might want to avoid lighter roast points. Medium roasts are well balanced with the floral/chocolaty with just a hint of some acidity, a little spice note pops out in the aftertaste. Darker roasts are tasty, strong and chocolaty, not too roasty with just a hint of floral in the aftertaste.

A great super fresh example of Antigua coffee, follows those wonderful floral versus chocolaty notes that made the region so famous. Medium roasts are recommended but good from light to dark. Lighter roasts will accentuate the lemony floral tones of the cup, the chocolaty factor will be just a hint but noticeable and smooth, a bit of nuttiness will linger in the aftertaste not present in further roast levels. Medium roasts are very clean and balanced – not too acidic, not too bitter – sweet edged and will have wonderful mix of tones. A nice clean, rich, and versatile coffee. Lighter roasting will come off clean and winy like a good Guatemalan should. A little higher acidity than average, balanced with some developing malt like tones. A bit acidic light roasted but easy to enjoy if you classically like lighter roasts. Blooms into a more traditional Guat. chocolaty cup as you push into the medium to dark roast levels. The darker you go the less winy and acidic the cup will taste. Around a medium roast, the perceived acidity drops and creates a rich, fuller bodied, chocolaty cup with a smooth and sweet edge. A hint of floral mixing it to keep it crisp. Dark roasts into second crack will work for you dark roast fans, a bit more stout like with low acidity with semi-sweet smoky/chocolate like notes.

A great super fresh and clean micro lot from our friends at Finca De Dios. Awesome prep, one can tell a lot of care went into these beans. A great medium to as dark as you want to go bean type. Light roasts produce a lot of floral brightness and light fruit notes (almost reminiscent of a nice Costa) mixing with a subtle yet very sweet malty chocolaty note but can be a little more challenging to roast to a light roast – a great morning brew – darker roasts will produce more body similar to the Huehues – very clean non-roasty dark-roast beans – you get a lot of the sweet malty tones and very smooth even into 2nd crack – a very stand up bean at almost any roast level.Price:Price: Original price was: $8.65.$7.65Current price is: $7.65.$8.65/lb$7.65/lb -

A very tasty cup of Guatemalan coffee. Lighter roasts are a bit delicate and sweet, a hint of winy acidity with some smooth chocolaty tones and a lingering spice note in the aftertaste. A good cup to sip on all day long. Medium roasts mute up most of the winy aspects of the cup, bring more of a medium body to the table and add just a hint of a smoky factor. Darker roasts get pretty smoky and chocolaty and was the only roast point with a little bite in the cup.

Very clean fun coffee. Best served at the light to medium roast level, this cup is very full bodied with buzzy acidity (acidic but not citric) and some seriously complex darker tones. We have had a couple other coffee like this before but its hard to describe, these tastes tend to only come out with very boutique controlled fermentation, which usually are natural processed, not fully washed like this one. Even at light roasts you get a clean and complex malty and smoky tone, semi-sweet that fades into tasty layers of spice. Pulls some tones lighter roasted that one usually would only see with darker roasts, instead of being ashy and roasty, they are delicate and crisp. Not an overly ferment cup, fruity but not wild stone fruit, very refined and clean fruit notes mixing with a complex and winey more traditional Guatemalan malty undertone. Lighter roasts will have some sizzling acidity and nice red fruit & grape skin overtones. Floral and sweet but pretty front loaded with brighter more citric tones. Great depth of flavor, a little bit of everything going on in this cup. Medium roasts are a bit more chug-able muting some of the acidity and building a classic malty undertone, still plenty exotic but not nearly as sharp. Close to touching second crack worked nicely as well, fun to get those strong semi-sweet malty tones of the dark roasts with overlaying exotic fruit notes still popping right through.

The first of our awesome direct relationship Guatemalans to hit. Finca Vista Hermosa & Finca De Dios, along with COE and Ana Cafe winners should arrive by Sept.A wonderful traditional tasting Huehue. Good from light to dark; winy, malty, floral, semi-sweet with good body. Just a pinch of a fruitiness as the cup cools. Light roasts are delicate and more floral upfront, accentuates the winy crispness of the cup, pulls some contrast with a little malty/nutty tone, and a little soft fruit tone especially as the cup cools. Good to let lighter roasts setup a couple days before drinking. Medium roasts were our personal favorite, much stronger semi-sweet malty tones with some winy highlights. Good body and mouthfeel at the medium roasts making this an easy cup to drink all day long. Darker roasts really promote the semi-sweet malty tone, comingles with smoky and roasty notes from the darker roast points. A good cup but pretty roasty. A good dark roast candidate for those who like a smokier cup of joe.

Best served light to medium roasted, but tasty from light to dark. A bit more plain tasting at the darker roasts but doubt any will complain about the taste! Lighter roasts have a hint of acidity and wonderful soft fruit tones, not like a natural processed, much more delicate and not ferment/boozy, sits on top of the more traditional Huehue malty factor nicely. One can see its Pacamara roots come through with a fuller body, sweet edge and more “rustic” malty tone. Not earthy like some Pacamara but greater depth to the malty factor. A wonderful combo of tones in this cup. Light roast will show a little hint of floral/citric like tones with the fruity aspect. Contrasted with little nutty/chocolaty undertone. Clean, sweet and complex but might be a little acidic for some. Medium roasts build a little body and mellow the fruity/floral aspect, smooth and very sweet edged. Darker roasts into second crack and still sweet and malty but lack a little depth and are more dominated by the roasty tones.
