New 2024/25 Crop!
Best from the lighter side of a medium roast to as dark as you want to go. A bit cleaner tasting but slightly less fruity than previous seasons. Lighter roasting presents some nice honey processed features: citric, floral, soft fruit with an almost oak/peat like finish, sweet & complex but does risk some underdeveloped tones if you nail it a little too light. Medium roasts were our favorite, still balanced and complex but will develop the traditional chocolate and smoky tones for which Dominican coffees are known for – to balance out those more exotic fruity and citric tones. Darker roasts are a little more complex than on the washed processed version, but not as smooth and rich.Price: $9.49/lb - 8.29/lbPrice: $9.49 -

New 2024/25 Crop!
A great medium to dark roast coffee: robust, fuller bodied, lower acidity and complex. Rich and smooth with nutty, chocolate, earthy and spice tones. On the lighter roast spectrum there is a little jazzy citric note that presents the cup a little sweeter, on the darker roast spectrums it will have some roasty and smoky notes that we found quite pleasant.Price: $9.49/lb - 8.29/lbPrice: $9.49 -

New 2024/25 crop!
I always love the Kona profile. We thought these beans to shine from a medium to dark roast. Lighter roasting will produce hints of a fruity island acidity balanced with a chocolaty/nutty undertone, jazzed up with a hint of herbal spice in the aftertaste. As the roast progresses the cup gets pretty low acidity and the nutty and chocolaty factor will get accentuated. Close or into 2nd crack you will get some added smoky and roasty notes that will compliment the sweeter cup profile.Price: $31.99/lb - 30.79/lbPrice: $31.99 -

This is the new 2024/25 crop!
A wonderful tasting Kona grown from a unique to Kona strain: Red Bourbon. Much sweeter and slightly more floral than the traditional Typica strain, gentle winy acidity upfront balancing with soft and smooth nutty and chocolate like tones. A hint of caramel if you get lucky on the roast. A little higher acidity than the Hala Tree Extra Fancy Typica, but would still be considered a medium to low acidity coffee. The cup is best at the light-medium roast levels: clean, sweet and balanced. Still a very tasty cup at darker roasts but will lose the delicate balance turning the cup into more potent chocolate like tones leaning on the bitter-sweet side.Price: $31.99/lb - 30.79/lbPrice: $31.99 -

A very clean, well balanced cup; crisp acidity and soft fruit tones comingle with a more chocolaty finish. Can be roasted from light to dark. The acidity is a bit citrus/floral upfront but will quickly fade into a rocking islandy fruit tone. From a medium roast on, the acidity is very gentle and balanced with a smooth to rough chocolaty cup profile, milk chocolate before 2nd crack, bakers chocolate and smoky into 2nd crack. Medium bodied, these beans as well as other Kona’s are mild cups comparatively to many other origins, be in for a delicate and tasty cup with layers of goodness.

Nice, clean and fresh organic Sumatra! These traditional wet-hulled Sumatra beans are best from medium to dark roasts. Wet-hulled coffees are seldom tasty at light roast levels, generally just grassy and earthy. From medium to dark they are fuller bodied, low acidity and darker toned, with a predominately chocolaty cup profile. Very classic tasting Sumatra stronger on the peat like tones and spice notes. A little sweet floral upfront and smoky in the aftertaste. Gets strong into the very dark roasts turning semi-sweet with very forward smoky bakers chocolate notes.Price:Price: Original price was: $7.99.$6.89Current price is: $6.89.$7.99/lb$6.89/lb -

Light to dark this is one tasty cup. Full of sweet and incredibly smooth nutty and chocolate like tones: a little hint of caramel/toffee, a little hint of floral/island acidity. Medium bodied cup with great mouthfeel and lower acidity. Lighter roasts are very delicate and mild, accentuating the nuttier tones. With a longer setup gives the best hints of caramel/toffee. Medium to dark roasts increase the strength of the cup leaning it more towards the chocolate/cocoa side of things, which might be wise if you traditionally like a more potent brew. Darker roasts are a bit roasty tasting, still very sweet, but is almost a shame when it loses its delicate edge. Creamy, smooth, and more chocolate like with just a hint of unique JBM island character, shows more as the cup cools, or as the tastes linger on the tongue.Price: $34.99/lb - 33.79/lbPrice: $34.99 -

A lovely example of Kenya coffee. Good from light to dark, we recommend a nice medium roast to showcase it. Very bright, punchy and complex at lighter roasts, a bit front loaded with citric/floral but very clean with some balance. A bit hoppy some will say with some spice notes popping out. The lighter tones will pull some balance with a semi-sweet chocolate edge but easily overpowered by the higher acidity when light roasted. Medium roasts build much better balance between the acidity (citric/floral/fruit) and the dark tones (nutty/cocoa/spice) making it less blasty of a cup, easier to drink all day. If you don’t like higher acidity, this is where to start with your roasts. Darker roasts have there place, but will kill some of what separates this cup from “average” Kenyan. Strong and semi-sweet, think bakers chocolate with herbal accents. A little smoky and roasty but presents nicely for a more exotic dark roast.

Very fresh and tasty from light to dark roasts. Too see them shine, we do recommend a light to medium but there are reasons we can think of to take it darker. A complex, full flavored cup, which is why many think of Kenya as the top origin for high class beans. Lighter roasts are bright with stronger citric notes and hints of fruit, will pull a darker toned balance with a semi-herbal, green tea like component. Medium bodied, higher acidity with awesome depth of flavor. Medium roasts tame some of the bright characteristics, not as citric, promotes the body of the cup and turns the darker tones more chocolaty than herbal. Still retains good balance and depth but is not nearly as punchy with its tastes. Darker roasts around or into second crack will mute most of the citric and crisper tones, very strong and stout like semi-sweet chocolate notes, a hint of complimenting roasty/smoky that and will end with a bit of lingering spice in the aftertaste.Price:Price: Original price was: $8.99.$7.99Current price is: $7.99.$8.99/lb$7.99/lb -

New Crop Terruno!
Always one of our favorite Mexican coffees. Good from light to dark. Although Natural processed, this is not a fruit bomb like many other natural processed coffees, has slightly fruity overtones that balance great with some citric, malt and nutty undertones. Its a little fuller bodied cup than most Terruno lots with well above average sweetness. Lighter roasting will have noticeable citric crispness upfront and will accentuate the fruitiness. Medium roasts balance the tones nicely and smooth out (reduce) the citric brightness. Darker roasts turn much more chocolaty and get pretty roasty and smoky, retains a sweet edge and shows hints of fruitiness as the cup cools. A good daily drinker across the roast levels.Price: $8.59/lb - 7.49/lbPrice: $8.59 -

New Crop Nayarita!
A great daily drinker! Works well from light to dark roasts. Very sweet and chocolaty cup of coffee with some lemony/floral crispness upfront. Light roasts will show stronger citrus mixing with a nuttier darker tone with slightly herbal accents, small hint of caramel will show with a little longer setup. Could be a bit acidic for some, but presents nicely for those who like a little citric and a nuttier cup profile. Medium roasts smooth out the cup and move the darker tones to more along the chocolate like alley, far less noticeable citric tones. Likely the best roast for daily drinking, but will be personal preference. Closer to 2nd crack or touching it, a strong chocolate like profile, more semi-sweet with very low acidity and a creamy mouthfeel with a little spice in the aftertaste.Price: $8.59/lb - 7.49/lbPrice: $8.59 -

A very nice and super fresh batch of their traditional farm aggregate. A little hint of citrus floral upfront balanced with nice complex malty tones. Silky smooth and clean tasting, fuller bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Lower acidity chocolaty cup with a sweet edge. We liked it best from a medium to dark roast, but with a little longer setup, light roast fans can find joy with these beans. Definitely a chocolaty cup profile with some cool nutty and herbal/spice accents. If you roast before 2nd crack, which is preferred, one can balance in some melon and fruit acidity into the mix which is a big plus to the depth of flavor. Cup starts sweet at lighter roasts but will turn semi-sweet as you pushing into medium or dark roasts.

Good from light to dark. Smooth, big bodied & creamy with semi-sweet chocolate notes, nutty accents and a bit of lingering spice in the aftertaste. Lower acidity cup but will show some floral characteristics at the lighter roast points. A little roasty/smoky tone into second crack but it will compliment the more chocolaty and nutty profile.

Good from light to dark, very different tasting dependent on roast level. If you are a very fruit forward natural fan, sticking in the light to medium roast level is recommended. Contrary to many naturals, these beans rock at the fuller roast levels as well, touching or into second crack produces a very lively cup, not super roasty with incredible depth of flavor and good balance between light and dark tones.

Best at the light to medium roast level. Good bit of citrus and red fruit upfront balanced with a thicker chocolate and spice note. Light roasts get a very jazzy stronger citric tone, with just a hint of a dark tone balance. Floral and sweet edged, with an emphasis on the fruitiness of the cup. Medium roasting brings the best of both worlds, some soft fruit, some chocolate and spice: medium to full bodied and far less sharp than the lighter roasts, but also a bit less fruity. More of a chocolaty cup with fruity highlights. Dark roasts get even fuller bodied but burn out some sweetness, taste like semi-sweet chocolate on the roasty/smoky side, thick with a bit of spice in the aftertaste. A hint of fruitiness as the cup cools but hard to tell its natural processed roots at darker roasts.
