Low Stock – Only 12 Pounds Left!
A very clean, exotic and balanced cup of coffee. This cup hit the classic Kenyan cup profile on the head without being too overwhelming like some (very balanced in its tones). Not quite sizzling but a very noticeable lemony floral tone upfront at the light to medium roast points balanced with some stronger semi-sweet, heavily spiced (think black tea herbal spice, not cinnamon) chocolate like tones. A hint of soft fruit can be found in the aftertaste but gets overwhelmed but the cups stronger light/dark tones. Light roasts will swing the balance towards the floral citric side, darker roasts more towards the jazzy baker’s chocolate aspect. Holds up into 2nd crack for you dark roast fans. Low acidity and strong bittersweet chocolate tones with the traditional Kenyan spice note that leaves a very smoky tone on the pallet.

A bit fuller bodied for a Kenya, awesome depth of flavor. Lovely crisp grapefruit acidity, a decent shot at a caramel note, accompanied with a rich chocolaty spice undertone. Packs a punch comparatively to many Central or South American coffees. Lighter roasts will show some decent lemony acidity, slight spice and soft grapefruit notes along with hints of a chocolaty undertone. Medium roasts bring the cup more into a nice balance building the chocolaty factor and reducing a bit of acidity. Darker roasts get a little bitter but still show some exotic spice notes and rich chocolaty factor. This cup presents best on the light to medium roast side but you will have to like some acidity in the cup to enjoy these roast levels.Price:Price: Original price was: $9.69.$8.49Current price is: $8.49.$9.69/lb$8.49/lb -

A very fun cup to play with roast level. Very clean allowing for stand up lighter roasts but be a little warned, light roasts will have a strong crisp lemony floral brightness upfront, that will be the dominate tone. Medium roasts mellow out the lemony acidity and bring forth a bit of a soft fruit tone balancing with hints of a chocolate spice note, a cup everyone will start loving. Pushing towards 2nd crack really mutes up most of the acidity and the cup gets a little thicker and much more chocolaty, still a crisp sweet tone upfront. Darker roasts get pretty bakers chocolaty with some roasty smoky notes.Price: $7.89/lb - 6.69/lbPrice: $7.89 -

Super clean and way more delicate than most Kenyans. Very sweet upfront with some definite acidity poking out. It is not the highest acidity Kenya on the block but contains enough to be pretty citrus/floral at the lighter roast points. As long as you don’t cinnamon roast this coffee, the acidity leaves a little soft fruit tone on the tongue. All those acidic notes balance with a caramel/chocolate note that is clean as can be. Almost no traditional herbal spice note like so many of its African cousins.

A very clean, exotic and balanced cup of coffee. Although still considered a higher acidity cup, this offering is more about the fuller body and complex darker tones. Especially at lighter roasts, one will see a more citric almost pink lemonade style acidity, but not like the AA beans, decently mellower. Even at lighter roasts the cup pulls some nice darker tones with a little veg like spice in the aftertaste, think rhubarb. Darker roasts get much thicker and semi-sweet, would put in on the bakers chocolate side of things with some soft fruit and spice lingering on the tongue, a little smoky if you go real dark.

No missing this cup is a Kenyan though, decently strong acidity upfront especially on the lighter roast side; comes off pretty buzzy and citric with a little soft fruit. Strong bakers chocolate with equally as strong herbal spice notes balance out the acidity nicely. If you want to shoot for a more acidic bright cup, roast it a bit lighter, looking for more of the robust spice and chocolaty tones, take it a bit darker.

New Crop!
A great cup! Super clean in its cup characters. Very bright and somewhat fruity at the lighter roasts; citrus, floral and red fruit balanced with just hint of a herbal nutty/caramel factor. Medium roasts get more balanced, not as citric, building a bigger bodied darker tone. The citric turns a little grapefruit like and the nuttiness turns a bit more chocolaty, maintains a lot of depth between the acidity and herbal chocolate/nutty floral notes . Darker roasts get very strong and semi-sweet, think bakers chocolate with herbal accents. A little smoky and roasty but presents nicely for a more exotic dark roast.Price: $8.39/lb - 7.19/lbPrice: $8.39 -

Light roasts will swing the balance towards the floral citric side, darker roasts more towards the jazzy bakers chocolate alley. Holds up into 2nd crack for you dark roast fans. Lighter roasts and where this cup will shine. Tasty at almost any roast level but too dark will burn out the exotic tones that one is paying up for. Traditional light roasts are where one will see the acidic feature set that Kenyans are known for; citrus, floral and soft fruit will be the dominate tones with just hints of spice notes in the aftertaste. Wonderfully clean cup, so very little grassy or muddy tones at those light roasts, could be too acidic and exotic for some. A medium roast produces a very nice daily drinker, acidity mellows out greatly and a stronger chocolaty cup profile is seen; hints of soft fruit balancing with chocolaty spice. Darker roasts get a bit rough (edgy) and very strong, filled with potent semi-semi sweet dark tones and smokiness. The spice still pops right out differentiating it from most Central or South American coffees.

Medium roasts are where this cup will shine. Tasty at almost any roast level but too dark will burn out the exotic tones that one is paying up for. Traditional light roasts are where one will see the higher acidity and plenty of citric floral tones, can be a bit sharp, a cool cup but hard to drink all day. Medium roasts ease up on the acidity but do not rid the cup of it, a crisp citric/floral sparkle balanced with hints of caramel, dark chocolate and some black tea accents, decently exotic but easy to drink, a rare combination. Darker roasts are on the sweet side; fuller bodied with strong chocolate notes and a smoky aftertaste.
