A very nicely balanced cup of coffee. A little hint of acidity upfront providing some floral and soft fruit at the lighter roasts, balanced with a semi-sweet nutty chocolaty factor. Super light roasts risk a little grassy/herbal but it straightens out at a city+ (medium) and holds up as dark as you want to take it. The darker you go, the more body and edgy chocolate the cup will pick up, once you hit 2nd crack, expect some smoke and roasty tones to compliment the nutty/chocolaty factor.

Brazil Mogiana Guaxupé 14/16 FC SS
A very fresh and tasty Brazil! Lighter roasts show lemon, floral & soft fruit contrasted by a nuttier (almond like) undertone, a sweet edged cup. The two combine for a hints of caramel, quite tasty for you light roast fans. Medium roasts are richer, more of a developed chocolaty tone and decently less nutty; mutes up the soury floral edge, retains a little hint of soft fruit as the cup cools. Fairly neutral tasting and very chuggable. Darker promotes a thicker body and introduces a slightly bitter contrast that works very well for espresso.

A great clean decaf coffee! Good from light to dark. Lighter roasting will show a little lemony crispness, rare for a decaf. Sweeter edged with a little herbal chocolate contrast. Medium roasts cut out most of the lemony crispness and rid the cup of its herbal edge. Smooth and rich, medium bodied, with a more pronounced chocolate tone; a bit floral and sweet in the aromatics, adds to the drinking experience but doesn’t come through in the tastes. Darker roasts are robust and strong, semi-sweet and very chocolaty with a roasty edge.

On the lighter roast spectrum there is a little jazzy citric note that presents the cup a little sweeter, on the darker roast spectrums it will have some roasty and smoky notes that we found quite pleasant.

The body is light/medium and has a very silky texture on the malty side. The aroma comes through in the taste to create a wonderful balance of tones. Medium to low acidity, reduces the darker you roast. The finish is very smooth and clean with a lingering sweetness.

A lovely coffee. Low acidity, medium body with rich and robust darker tones ringing throughout the cup. Medium to dark roasts are where these beans shine. Lighter roasting without much acidity will leave the cup a bit nutty and lacking but clean. Starting at about a medium roast the cup builds a wonderful chocolate note with some smoky and malty overtones. A bit on the sweeter smoother side, a tasty treat. Darker roasts, close to touching 2nd crack and where the much more robust tones pop out of the cup, reminiscent of a nice Haitian cigar.

A sweeter cup for an Indo with malt, chocolate with a little traditional earthy terroir of the wet-hulled Indonesians. Fuller bodied, a little hint of acidity at a medium roast, a definite go to for our strong-medium or dark roasts here at Burman Coffee. Pulls some molasses undertones as ones pushes into second crack roasts. Hints of slight smoky tone at darker roast.

As you push into the medium roasts, it will get fuller bodied with a creamy mouthfeel cutting out the more lemony floral tones, turns the cup much more chocolaty and gives depth to the exotic spice notes. Darker roasts will turn more stout like and semi-sweet. Crisp, clean and fresh, a great coffee from light to dark. A less acidic Kenya with great balance, mouthfeel and depth of flavors. At light roasts it will still have some brighter citrus qualities but will not pucker ones mouth. Kenyan coffees in general can be pretty strong. It has hints of chocolate, fruit & herbal spice along with the citrus and floral. Medium roasts bring the best balance to the cup accentuating the chocolaty tones and reducing the brighter notes just a hint. Darker roasts make that classic Kenya herbal tone pop right out and is more down the potent bakers chocolate alley. Very clean with increasing body as the roast gets darker. A great balance between citrus, floral, herbal and chocolate. Easy to change the balance of these tones by roast level – a fun coffee to play around with.

A very clean, exotic and balanced cup of coffee. Although still considered a higher acidity cup, this offering is more about the fuller body and complex darker tones. Especially at lighter roasts, one will see a more citric style acidity, comingling with a green tea like spice, clean as a whistle, but may be a little sharp for some. Medium roasts bring a more potent chocolaty cup with some floral highlights, lingering spice in the aftertaste. Darker roasts get much thicker and semi-sweet, would put in on the bakers chocolate side of things with some soft fruit and spice lingering on the tongue, a little smoky if you go real dark.

Will give great depth of flavor but may be a little sharp for some. Our favorite roast and a great everyday drinker was in the medium roast ballpark, builds more of a smooth and creamy cup with a sweet edge, reducing that perceived acidity to just a pinch. A nice medium to dark roast more potent Nicaraguan offering. Medium to full bodied with just a little hint of acidity. Strong Medium roasts were our favorite with thicker more complex malty tones, a sweet edge, hints of herbal spice and almost no acidity, a good daily drinker being very smooth. Darker roasts produce a similar cup but turn it semi-sweet with complimenting smoky tones, not quite as smooth but has the heft many darker roast fans will love.

A clean, sweet and smooth cup of coffee one can drink all day long! A little fuller bodied at the light-medium roast level with a great balance between the lighter winy/floral notes & nutty/malty darker tones. Similar to Guatemalan coffee. Some acidity at lighter roasts but just a hint, medium to dark roasts would be marked as low acidity. As one pushes it into the medium roast range, the very sweet nutty tones come off a bit caramel like. Still plenty malty, it will linger on the tongue. Dark roasts turn pretty strong with the sweeter malty cup profile mixing nicely with smoky and roasty notes.

This cup is nice and clean, a little fuller bodied and smooth with a sweeter edge. A great year for Peru coffees; the cup starts just a little citric, fairly low acidity only detectable at the lighter roast points, a little hint of soft fruit but mainly a pretty chocolaty cup profile with some nutty accents. Lighter roasts one can find a hint of caramel if you get lucky, and leans on the nuttier side, little citric will poke out. A nice medium roast will make anyone happy and provide good balance and smooth chocolate tones, low acidity – a good daily drinker. A very fresh and tasty African. Enjoyable at any roast level; medium to dark roast was our favorite. Medium roast points provide a smooth cup on the nutty/chocolaty side, sweet tea flavors and a hint of citric. A little herbal spice lingers in the aftertaste but very mild comparatively to most Africans. Darker roasts add complimenting roasty notes, a sweet burnt sugar and chocolaty cup that is jazzed up with a little spice, lower acidity and a fuller body. Rich and chocolaty, Tanz coffee is always high on our go to list for stronger chocolaty darker roast coffee. At the medium roasts one will see a more gentle cup with good body, a little sweeter edge, hints of acidity and stronger chocolaty spice. Darker roasts get much fuller bodied and bring out the very strong bakers chocolate edge balancing nicely with classic African spice note and complimenting roasty/smoky tones. Best at a medium to dark roast: bigger bodied and darker toned. Lighter roasts will show some nice clean lemony floral acidity but do not fully develop the nice robust chocolaty factor, interestingly enough, one gets a bit of African herbal/spice in the cup at the lighter roasts. Medium roasts are where we thought it shined, just a small hint of citric sweetness upfront with a good balance of spicy chocolate notes, unique spice, more like the Indian coffees. Darker roasts get more like the Dominican with strong bakers chocolate and smoky tones, a hefty cup with very low acidity.

Lighter roasts will show stronger lemony floral tones, with good body but will balance with a bit of herbal/vegetal darker tones, kind of like an African coffee, will not fully develop the nice robust chocolaty factor that fuller roasts achieve. Medium roasts are where we thought it shined, just a small hint of citric sweetness upfront with a good balance of spicy chocolate notes, unique spice, more like the Indian coffees. A nice and clean taste, good from light to dark. Mostly these beans will appeal to medium-dark roast fans but being an exceptionally clean cup, it has some lovely balance and is quite tasty at lighter roasts. Similar to its Indonesian cousins (except washed processed), it gets real hefty into the dark roasts promoting smoky and chocolaty tones with stronger spice notes. Lighter roasting it is more delicate and floral, slightly fruity with some detectable lemony crispness, sweet edged, medium bodied with hints of a chocolaty factor.
