Mexican Terruño Nayarita Special Peaberry

(1 customer review)

Only 12 Pounds Left! Regular Price $7.99/lb
Always one of our favorite Mexican coffees . A little fuller bodied than most lots, good sweetness and full of a floral nutty chocolaty tones. The peaberry screen is pretty close to the same profile as the flat but gets a little stronger and heftier with a sweeter edge, not quite as floral at the lighter roast points. A tasty treat for any Mexican fan.

Description

This is a rare peaberry lot from Terruno Nayarita. One of the most trackable and sustainable Mexican coffees (and tasty!). Our first relationship coffees here at Burman, we have been working with them for going on 18 seasons now. Be sure to   check out all the information at trackyourcoffee.com. This is lot GTN8603001

Want to know why we think Terruño Nayarita is so cool? Check out our new blog post about them.

This is a co-op that holds a special place in our hearts. Gathered around an extinct volcano, Cerro San Juan, a committed group of 260 cooperative coffee farmers are working together to produce arguably the best coffee in Mexico. Terruño Nayarita coffees come from heirloom trees. The word ‘Terruño’ means ‘homestead’. These are farmers that take great pride in their coffee.

San Cristobal Coffee Importers takes great care to find and produce excellent coffee, making sure farmers use safe, sustainable shade techniques and provide a fair wage to the workers. Check out their webpage:

Roasting Notes:
I would shoot for a nice medium roast to right before the second crack – a little bit of a rougher cup into second crack but nice chocolate notes with just a hint of a floral aspect. A bit sweeter and smoother right before the second crack but not quite as hefty of a cup.

1 review for Mexican Terruño Nayarita Special Peaberry

Tried this because the Mexican Terruño Nayarita is my favorite (thus far on my beginners journey). Brewed in pour over 24 hours after roasting (with 2 minute wetting) expecting that young, brash flavor of an un-gassed-off coffee (10 days seem to be my sweet spot) but it was amazingly delicious. Let’s see if this makes it a week in the bag. Fresh green coffee that sprouts (started some seedlings for fun). My new favorite every-day drinker! I like a light city roast immediately after FC ends. This has a nice blend of floral with deeper chocolate notes. Delicious! I’m here to buy more and thought I’d put in my 2 cents.
