Indian Mysore Nuggets has been a favorite of Burman Coffee and customers for many years and this crop does not disappoint. The aroma is nutty, woody, and some slight smokiness. Many of the notes in the aroma come through in the flavor like walnuts and some smoke. There’s dark fruit, oak, licorice, and some vanilla spice, like a good dry red wine. The finish has a subdued brightness to it with just hints of lemon zest at lighter roast points. The body is medium to full depending on roast and brew. There’s a reason people keep coming back to this bean. It’s a smooth all around great stronger cup of coffee.

Always one of our favorite Mexican coffees. Good from light to dark. Although Natural processed, this is not a fruit bomb like many other natural processed coffees, has slightly fruity overtones that balance great with some citric, malt and nutty undertones. Its a little fuller bodied cup than most Terruno lots with well above average sweetness. Lighter roasting will have noticeable citric crispness upfront and will accentuate the fruitiness. Medium roasts balance the tones nicely and smooth out (reduce) the citric brightness. Darker roasts turn much more chocolaty and get pretty roasty and smoky, retains a sweet edge and shows hints of fruitiness as the cup cools. A clean, sweet & smooth cup. Best at the lighter roast points but works nicely in the medium roast range as well. Lighter roasts focus the tastes more around the brighter citric/fruit tones: a hint of lemony citric that fades into a fruitiness, balancing with a darker malt like undertone. A good daily drinking lighter roast coffee. Comparatively to the Catuai, the Typica is mild mannered, delicate, less acidic, smoother, but with similar tastes. Medium roasts bring a more traditional cup with better balance. This should be the minimum roast level if you do not want noticeable floral/fruit notes upfront. Still has a bit of jazz upfront but a more pronounced nutty/malty tone to balance it out. A little fuller bodied at the light-medium roast level with a great balance between the lighter winy/floral notes & nutty/malty darker tones. Similar to Guatemalan coffee. Some acidity at lighter roasts but just a hint, medium to dark roasts would be marked as low acidity. As one pushes it into the medium roast range, the very sweet nutty tones come off a bit caramel like. Still plenty malty, it will linger on the tongue. Hints of sweet citric floral upfront comingle with smooth defined malt like tones, just the tiniest hint of a fruity factor in the aftertaste. Lighter roasts get much crisper, dominated with more floral citric fruit tones, lemony most would say but does still show a little malty undertone. Darker roasts cut out the more floral aspect of the cup and are very rich and smooth, more semi-sweet but still very malty, into second crack adds some complimenting smoky tones. A crisp, bright, very clean and balanced cup. This is an awesome example of washed processed Panama coffee. A hefty cup full of floral, citric and sweet tones, malty, nutty and chocolate like tones to contrast. Soft fruit tones can be found somewhere between the two but not like a natural, delicate and more citric/peachy. Lighter roasts push the tones towards the more acidic side but these beans are clean enough to handle the lighter roasting. The most jazzy roast point but may come off a little too acidic for some. Medium roasts are the best starting point for medium-low acidity fans, it balances the cup out nicely with traditional darker tones. A wonderful mix of floral and malty/chocolaty without being too sour upfront. A very cool, very exotic cup of coffee. One can tell this is a slow dry natural processed coffee with its strong ripe red fruit tones upfront. Lighter roasting presents a ton of floral and fruit with an almost oak/peat boozy finish, very sweet with just a ton going on but does risk some underdeveloped tones with its two-toned roasting. Medium roasts were our favorite, still plenty wild but develop enough of the chocolate and smoky tones – which most Dominican coffees are known for – to balance all those more exotic fruity and citric tones. Most would call it a pretty sweet chocolaty cup with a bit of spice. Very smooth cupping this year with no herbal tones or earthiness. Medium bodied with a sweeter edge, a cup almost anyone would enjoy. Light roasting will have some acidity, tastes will start with a sweet citric/winy crispness upfront and balance out with a malty/nutty/caramel darker tone, a hint of herbal spice in the aftertaste. A lovely balance of tones and our favorite roast point. Medium roasts reduce the citric/winy tones and herbal spice, promoting the malt like taste. Increases the body and smoothness, but will reduce the depth of flavors a bit. If looking to impress, light roasts are where it shines. For daily drinking, medium roasts are the way to go.
