A lovely coffee! Clean, rich and sweet. A stand up lot from light to dark roasts. Lighter roasting will have a noticeable crisp lemony floral edge to it balanced with a nutty/herbal/chocolate tones. Dark roasts are strong and semi-sweet with a full body, complimenting roasty and smoky tones. Anywhere in the middle adds some cool & exotic soft fruit tones with hints of a nutty caramel sweetness. We couldn’t find a roast we didn’t like with these beans, if you roast lighter, just make sure you do not mind a little stronger citric component.

A wonderful example of a fruity natural! Light to medium roasts are where this cup will shine. Hints of lemony floral acidity comingle with sweet red fruit tones, balancing with an herbal chocolate like undertone. Can be a little sharp at traditional light roasts, but it will be the sweetest and fruitiest roast point. Medium roasts get much more chocolaty and smooth, bringing the darker tones to the foreground, it will retain the red fruit tone nicely still, lingers a bit in the aftertaste. Darker roasts pick up some stronger roasty tones, compliments the more chocolate and spice aspects of the cup, especially as it cools, the fruitiness will jump right out even at darker roast points.

A lovely coffee, mellow for an African but still a little more potent and spice toned when compared to most Central American coffees. Lighter roasts show some small hints of a lemony acidity, a little soft fruit tone accompanied with some herbal spice and chocolate tones, a bit exotic but balanced, light roast African fans will find some joy here but for most, pushing the beans into a medium roast will be preferred. Mellowed the spice tones of the cup creating a much smoother lower acidity cup profile with a little sweeter edge. One can still get the spice complexities especially in the aftertaste or as the cup cools but smooth, rich and not too exotic, a lovely roast point for a daily drinker. Darker roasts picked up stronger smoky and roasty tones but it complimented the darker spice tones and sweeter edge of the cup.Price:Price: Original price was: $6.99.$5.64Current price is: $5.64.$6.99/lb$5.64/lb -

A stellar example of a fruity natural! Lighter roasts are where this cup will shine. Hints of lemony floral acidity comingle with tropical edged red fruit tones, what a combination! A chocolate like undertone to balance off the cup. Not much for the traditional African herbal/vegetal spice note which many Central or South American coffee fans will love, but may come off as a more delicate cup to African fans. Medium roasts get much more chocolaty and smooth, retains the red fruit tone nicely. Darker roasts pick up some stronger roasty tones, compliments the more chocolaty aspects of the cup, especially as it cools, the fruitiness will jump right out even at darker roast points.

A lovely coffee, smooth and clean with a bit stronger and more potent and spice tones, especially when compared to most Central American coffees. Reminds me almost of a Kenyan like cup. Lighter roasts show some small hints of a lemony acidity, a little soft fruit tone accompanied with some herbal spice and chocolate tones, a bit exotic but balanced. A lovely coffee from light to dark. Your personal tastes will dictate what level to roast these beans to, if in doubt, a nice medium roast provides the best balance and depth of flavors. Light roasts will have a lemony citric crispness balancing with a sweet edged nutty/caramel/chocolate/spice like undertone. Takes a longer setup for lighter roasts to shine but for those who like sweetness and brighter notes in coffee will enjoy the lighter roast levels. Medium roasts build the darker tones and mute a bunch of the citric, a chocolaty cup with a burnt sugar kick, just a pinch of crisp citric that will disappear as the coffee sets up. Hints of nuttiness and spice pop out more one can see a little hint of caramel. Darker roasts turn the cup more into a semi-sweet chocolate bomb with a little spice in the aftertaste, much flatter but very tasty with a splash of milk or for espresso/cold-brew.

A wonderful African but you have to like some acidity to enjoy this cup. Much of the premium cost to this cup is going to be on the lighter spectrum of roasting. Jazzy acidity on a very clean cup. These beans will taste good at almost any roast but close to into 2nd crack will burn out much of the floral/fruity and crisp cup character. Light roasts work well but would be considered front loaded, strong citric floral tones with just a hint of a herbal chocolate in the aftertaste, as it cool one can pick up hints of soft fruit but they are pretty covered up by the higher acidity. Medium roasts pull some nice balance, more chocolaty with classic Kenya tea like spice, not front loaded but still easy to identify the more citric/floral/fruity tones of the cup. We like it here best. Touching 2nd crack produced a much lower acidity cup, still crisp but not overly citric, really makes the more tea like spice pop out of the cup and are accompanied with hints of smoky tones. Much darker than this turned a bit bittersweet.Price:Price: Original price was: $8.29.$6.94Current price is: $6.94.$8.29/lb$6.94/lb -

A awesome and super clean Burundi coffee. A bit of lemony floral acidity upfront with a little soft fruit tone balancing with a smooth and rich chocolaty spice note. Small hints of an herbal/tea like tone in the aftertaste letting you know its an African coffee. A bit sizzling but holds lighter roasts nicely. Smooth and a bit sweet at a medium roast, much heftier into the darker roast, turning it into a strong and fuller bodied cup. A great African cup and not too acidic, one almost everyone will like.

A very fun & tasty African natural. To see it shine, keep it in the light to medium roast range, although it’s a tasty cup from light to dark. Light roasts themselves have a stronger lemony floral tone right upfront. For an African it would not be considered high acidity but will be clearly noticeable in the taste. Behind the brighter floral notes lies a nice semi-sweet stone-fruit tone, similar to cascara or to some, strawberry’ish. The fruit and floral will quickly fade into a more robust chocolate note with some traditional spice notes kicking in mostly in the aftertaste. Medium roasts will mute the floral/fruity tones to just a hint over-top of the more robust chocolate & spice darker tones. Still exotic due to the processing but promotes more traditional Burundi like tones the darker you roast. Dark roasts themselves retain a much sweeter edge than the washed processed Burundi and one can see just a touch of fruitiness as the cup cools.Price:Price: Original price was: $8.75.$7.75Current price is: $7.75.$8.75/lb$7.75/lb
