A very clean, round-bodied cup with rich baker’s-chocolate at the core. Layers of caramel and fluffy marshmallow sweetness mingle with gentle baking-spice and a faint herbal/floral lift, all riding on virtually zero acidity—so smooth it’s hard to believe it’s a decaf. Light roasts can tease out a hint of sweet green-tea spice, but most Central-American fans will prefer nudging the roast a bit fuller to let the chocolate and malt really shine.

Very clean cup and fuller bodied, smooth and chocolaty, this is one tasty cup. Very hard to tell its a decaf. The stronger chocolate undertone mixes very well with the floral sweetness on top to create a lovely balance.

Best from the lighter side of a medium roast to as dark as you want to go. A bit cleaner tasting but slightly less fruity than previous seasons. Lighter roasting presents some nice honey processed features: citric, floral, soft fruit with an almost oak/peat like finish, sweet & complex but does risk some underdeveloped tones if you nail it a little too light. Medium roasts were our favorite, still balanced and complex but will develop the traditional chocolate and smoky tones for which Dominican coffees are known for – to balance out those more exotic fruity and citric tones. Darker roasts are a little more complex than on the washed processed version, but not as smooth and rich.Price: $9.49/lb - 8.29/lbPrice: $9.49 -

A great medium to dark roast coffee: robust, fuller bodied, lower acidity and complex. Rich and smooth with nutty, chocolate, earthy and spice tones. Clean, bright, sweet with a very diverse flavor set. Stone and darker fruit, citrus & floral, and spiced chocolate tones are the main flavors one can see in this cup, either accentuated or muted depending on roast level. Nice jammy body will be seen in the medium to borderline dark roast mark. Very dependent on roast – lighter roasting gives much more of the citrus, red-fruit with just a hint of a spicy chocolaty factor, a much dryer finish. Darker roasts produce much more of a bakers chocolate cup with a hint of a strawberry like fruit note and good sweetness, far less acidic. A very enjoyable cup from light to dark.

This cup is nice and chocolaty, lower acidity and medium bodied. A little sweeter edge to it except for super dark roasts. Besides a chocolaty factor one will get some nutty/caramel/floral like tones at the medium roast points, gives it some nice complimenting depth without being too exotic. Mexican Grupo Terruño Nayarita – Natural Processed

Always one of our favorite Mexican coffees. Good from light to dark. Although Natural processed, this is not a fruit bomb like many other natural processed coffees, has slightly fruity overtones that balance great with some citric, malt and nutty undertones. Its a little fuller bodied cup than most Terruno lots with well above average sweetness. Lighter roasting will have noticeable citric crispness upfront and will accentuate the fruitiness. Medium roasts balance the tones nicely and smooth out (reduce) the citric brightness. Darker roasts turn much more chocolaty and get pretty roasty and smoky, retains a sweet edge and shows hints of fruitiness as the cup cools. A great daily drinker! Works well from light to dark roasts. Very sweet and chocolaty cup of coffee with some lemony/floral crispness upfront. Light roasts will show stronger citrus mixing with a nuttier darker tone with slightly herbal accents, small hint of caramel will show with a little longer setup. Could be a bit acidic for some, but presents nicely for those who like a little citric and a nuttier cup profile. Medium roasts smooth out the cup and move the darker tones to more along the chocolate like alley, far less noticeable citric tones. Likely the best roast for daily drinking, but will be personal preference. Closer to 2nd crack or touching it, a strong chocolate like profile, more semi-sweet with very low acidity and a creamy mouthfeel with a little spice in the aftertaste.Price:Price: Original price was: $8.59.$7.49Current price is: $7.49.$8.59/lb$7.49/lb -

Great everyday drinker at a medium roast, balanced with a sweet edge. A heftier cup at the darker roasts and equally as tasty, fuller bodied with strong malty and smoky tones but still retains that sweeter edge to it.

Stand up beans good from light to dark, but we thought best at the fuller roast levels. Medium to full bodied, lower acidity, clean and chocolaty with some nice fruity overtones. Lighter roasts will have a little citric/floral tone with a sweet and herbal edge, a hint of soft fruit. Medium roasts get much more chocolaty and less herbal providing a balanced cup, works nicely for all taste buds; smooth and rich. A nice clean, balanced cup, medium bodied and lower acidity for an African. Best from a medium to dark roast. Although lower acidity, lighter roasts will still be a little citric and floral balanced with a rustic bakers chocolaty undertone. Medium roasts mute up the acidity and leave a little hint of a floral, developing a little soft fruit tone mixing with a smoother but still semi-sweet chocolate darker tones. Darker roasts themselves pick up some nice complimentary roasty & smoky tones mixing with a stronger bakers chocolate cup profile.
