Most would consider this a medium to dark roast coffee, but does have some jazz at lighter roast points. Darker toned, semi-sweet coffee with lower acidity and a fuller body. Filled with rich chocolate/nutty/herbal/spice like tones. Great depth of flavor without all that citric and fruity that often comes with higher rated cups these days.Lighter roasting promotes the more nutty/herbal, darker roasting chocolate & spice. Lighter roasting took 4-5 days after roasting to get tasty, medium to dark roasts were tasty from day 1.

Great from light to dark. Lighter roasts will show some floral acidity and soft fruit tones comingling with a little nutty/caramel like darker note. Crisp, clean, sweet and balanced. Medium roasts mute up most of the floral attributes, gains a little body and thicker mouthfeel, just a pinch of a sweet fruity upfront quickly dominated by nutty and chocolate like tones. Darker roasts get a bit smoky and move the soft fruit tone to the aftertaste, mostly noticeable as the cup cools, a stronger nutty/chocolatey/smoky profile.Price: $8.29/lb - 7.09/lbPrice: $8.29 -

This is one exotic coffee even for natural fans. Best served in the light to medium roast range. A bit milder than the last lot but in the same ballpark. Pretty winy, fruity and floral upfront with a bit of acidity, balancing with a chocolate & spice like undertone, kind of similar to Indian coffees except with all the wild and sweet ferment and fruit notes upfront. Lighter roasting accentuated the red wine like attributes, hints of citric with a very fruity edge: sweet, oaky, nutty, a little boozy in the finish. Medium roasts tame the cup a bit, still plenty winy and fruity but presents a smoother, less wilder version of the lighter roast points. Spice notes clearly pop out in the medium roast level starting to give some spiced rum like tastes in the background. Darker roasts really bring forth the sweet rum like spice notes balanced with a molasses like darker tone and a fuller body.

A great super clean Colombian offering. Smooth and fuller bodied cup, nice buttery texture and clean as can be. A little sweet floral tone upfront that is a little citric at the lighter roasts points but pretty low acidity from medium to dark roasts. Good chocolaty factor with some nuttier accents. A great everyday drinker.

Good from light to dark! A wonderful clean supremo screen. The aroma is sweet, freshly cut cedar, spicy, with a touch of cocoa. The body is medium/full and has a mild and pleasant acidity. The flavor is very dependent on the roast. Light roasts are a bit citric and sweet, hints of a melon fruitiness comingle with a little nutty and chocolaty factor. At a medium roast, you will enjoy soft notes of walnut, cedar, and spice, a little crispness, with more of a caramel like finish. Darker roasts will stronger chocolate tones and hints of spice and dried dark fruit.

A super clean lot from the Congo; Amazing considering all the trouble this year in the Kivu; beautiful prep on these beans. Great floral and soft fruit tones upfront with a bit of brightness balanced with a tea spiced chocolaty factor, not too overwhelming or potent like some Africans. Smooth with almost a brown sugar hint at a strong medium roast. Pretty much everyone will love this coffee, a great everyday drinker.

A wonderfully clean and exotic cup. Not nearly as herbal spice noted as its Yirgacheffe cousins. A bit of lemony floral acidity upfront quickly fading into nice red fruit notes and balancing with a smooth chocolate undertone that lingers in the aftertaste. Light roasts will promote much more citrus acidity but also leave the most red fruit tones in the cup. A longer setup helps with the lighter roasts for the citric tones will fade over time allowing more of the fruitiness and darker tones of the cup to shine. Medium roasts really bring forth the cleaner chocolaty tones in the cup reducing the fruit and citric tones to just a hint. Darker roasts burn out the fruit and acidity leaving a strong slightly edgy bakers chocolate cup with smoke smokier highlights.

Regular Price $7.30/Lb
A fresh and great tasting classic Ethiopian! This is not a super fruity natural, would be considered a darker toned, lower acidity, chocolaty cup. One can tell its natural processed roots with its sweetness and thickness and its Ethiopian roots with highlights of spice & fruity/floral notes throughout the roast range. Best served in the light to medium roast range for drip brew for it will show its best balance and promote a hint of fruity/floral. Turns into a chocolate bomb at the darker roasts, more on the dark chocolate side, which would work wonderfully for espresso or cold brew. Lighter roasts have a pinch of citric acidity and wonderful aromatics, hints of red fruit that balance with a bit of semi-nutty tea like spice.Price:Price: Original price was: $7.30.$6.30Current price is: $6.30.$7.30/lb$6.30/lb -

A very sweet and fruity cup of coffee. Best at a light to medium roast. Good body with some crisp floral tones right upfront. The floral will quickly fade into strong and diverse red fruit tones, more pronounced as the cup cools. The floral/fruit will pull some balance with a chocolaty cup profile as you push into the medium roast levels, just a hint of classic Yirgacheffe tea like spice in the aftertaste.

A clean, fresh and semi-fruity Ethiopian. Lower acidity with great sweetness making it a wonderful light to medium roast bean for every tongue. Although not a fruit bomb, it has noticeable red fruit tones upfront that balance with the classic Ethiopian chocolate and spice notes. Light roast have just a pinch of citric and floral upfront that quickly fade into the fruitiness, hints of the chocolate and spice notes but mostly in the aftertaste. Medium roasts accentuate the more chocolaty aspect pushing the fruity and floral tones to the background, very smooth, sweet & balanced cup with exotic highlights. Darker roast into or touching 2nd crack will hide almost all of the fruity and floral, just detectable in the aftertaste as the cup cools, very chocolaty but a bit more semi-sweet.

This is the new 2024/25 crop!
A super cool & exotic cup of Kona. Higher acidity with strong tones of citrus, floral and red fruit. Very wild up front balanced with a sweet chocolaty caramel like tone. A little different than last years batch with the higher acidity levels but just as tasty in my mind. Lighter roasts are front loaded with the floral and fruit tones; tasty but you have to like acidity. Fuller roast were preferred by most, much more chocolaty, lower acidity with a nice fruitier overtone. Very sweet upfront.Price: $31.99/lb - 30.79/lbPrice: $31.99 -

A very clean, well balanced cup, best from medium to dark roast. Crisp acidity with a small hint of soft fruit comingle with a more chocolaty cup profile. Can be roasted from light to dark but our favorite was a nice medium roast, followed by the darker roast. Lighter roasts: the acidity is a bit citrus upfront but will quickly fade into a slight island fruit tone, balances with a little herbal/chocolate contrast. From a medium roast on, the acidity is very gentle and balanced with a smooth to rough chocolaty cup profile, milk chocolate before 2nd crack, bakers chocolate and smoky into 2nd crack. Medium bodied and lower acidity, these beans as well as other Kona’s are mild cups comparatively to many other origins, be in for a delicate and tasty cup with layers of goodness.

A wonderful super fresh Sumatra arrival!
A very clean traditional Sumatra cup. Best from medium to dark roasts. Fuller bodied with some nice exotic incense spice notes intermingled with a bakers chocolate and smoky cup profile. Light roast are not recommended (for almost all Indo coffees). Medium roasts were nice and balanced, a little lemony acidity upfront mixing with a bunch of spice and hints of an earthy slightly peaty chocolaty factor; a decent roast point for pour-overs or drip. Darker roasts were fuller bodied and very smoky with the spice lingering in the aftertaste, very low acidity; good for dark roast fans, espresso or blend bases.Price: $7.69/lb - 6.49/lbPrice: $7.69 -

A very cool cup! Best medium to dark roasted but will hold lighter roasts much better than most Sumatra coffees. Lighter roasts have a little cool lemony acidity upfront, with some soft fruit tones giving it some jazz, balanced with a dry earthy chocolaty herbal factor with some incense like spice. As you push into the medium roasts, it will get fuller bodied with a creamy mouthfeel cutting out the more lemony floral tones, turns the cup much more chocolaty and gives depth to the exotic spice notes. Darker roasts will turn more stout like and semi-sweet. When roasting into 2nd crack one will add some cool roasty and smoky tones into the more bakers chocolaty cup profile.Price:Price: Original price was: $7.99.$6.75Current price is: $6.75.$7.99/lb$6.75/lb -

A very clean, exotic and balanced cup of coffee. Although still considered a higher acidity cup, this offering is more about the fuller body and complex darker tones. Especially at lighter roasts, one will see a more citric style acidity, comingling with a green tea like spice, clean as a whistle, but may be a little sharp for some. Medium roasts bring a more potent chocolaty cup with some floral highlights, lingering spice in the aftertaste. Darker roasts get much thicker and semi-sweet, would put in on the bakers chocolate side of things with some soft fruit and spice lingering on the tongue, a little smoky if you go real dark.

A very clean, bright and balanced cup. Best at the light to medium roast levels. At lighter roasts; one will see sweet and strong citric tones comingling with chocolate and herbal darker notes, classic premium Kenya. As the cup sets up longer one can see some greater complexity pop out with hints of soft fruit, nutty and caramel like tones. Pushing into the medium roast levels, the thickness increases and the chocolate/herbal factor will be the dominate tone in the cup hiding much of the citric and floral. Always one of our favorite Mexican coffees. Good from light to dark. Although Natural processed, this is not a fruit bomb like many other natural processed coffees, has slightly fruity overtones that balance great with some citric, malt and nutty undertones. Its a little fuller bodied cup than most Terruno lots with well above average sweetness. Lighter roasting will have noticeable citric crispness upfront and will accentuate the fruitiness. Medium roasts balance the tones nicely and smooth out (reduce) the citric brightness. Darker roasts turn much more chocolaty and get pretty roasty and smoky, retains a sweet edge and shows hints of fruitiness as the cup cools. A good daily drinker across the roast levels.Price:Price: Original price was: $7.85.$6.85Current price is: $6.85.$7.85/lb$6.85/lb -

Good from light to dark, very different tasting dependent on roast level. If you are a very fruit forward natural fan, sticking in the light to medium roast level is recommended. Contrary to many naturals, these beans rock at the fuller roast levels as well, touching or into second crack produces a very lively cup, not super roasty with incredible depth of flavor and good balance between light and dark tones.

This cup is nice and clean, a little fuller bodied and smooth with a sweeter edge. A great year for Peru coffees; the cup starts just a little citric, fairly low acidity only detectable at the lighter roast points, a little hint of soft fruit but mainly a pretty chocolaty cup profile with some nutty accents. Lighter roasts one can find a hint of caramel if you get lucky, and leans on the nuttier side, little citric will poke out. A nice medium roast will make anyone happy and provide good balance and smooth chocolate tones, low acidity – a good daily drinker. Darker roasts work good but burn out a bit of the sweetness, the chocolaty factor sure compliments the toastier smoky tones of the dark roasts.Price:Price: Original price was: $7.25.$6.25Current price is: $6.25.$7.25/lb$6.25/lb -

Wonderful aromatics accompany lighter roasts but could be a little too grassy/sharp for some. Medium roasts are more chocolaty, balancing with the spice nicely, less woody, more bold semi-sweet clove like spice. Great from light to dark but most would consider it a light to medium roast coffee to see it shine. We couldn’t find a roast level or curve we didn’t like; a complex & chocolaty coffee. Lighter roasts will have a crisp lemony/floral acidity, a hint of soft fruit, balanced with a chocolate and spice darker tone; sweet edged, winy, and floral. A cup bound to impress almost every coffee fan. Medium roasts mellow the citric acidity promoting a rich, smooth & chocolate cup with some hints of classic African spice. We thought best served in the medium roast range, but tasty from light to dark. A very sweet cup at any roast point. Lighter roasts have some stronger citric/floral acidity, a little hint of a grape-skin like fruitiness and a spiced (herbal) chocolate undertone. Medium roasts build a much creamier cup profile, just a hint of crisp floral upfront that fades into a strawberry like fruitiness, balanced with a spicier chocolate dark tone. Dark roasts themselves are a bit flatter but still very sweet edged, hardly fruity but makes up for it with the fuller bodied more robust chocolate and spice notes.Price:Price: Original price was: $8.59.$7.59Current price is: $7.59.$8.59/lb$7.59/lb -

A very fresh and tasty African. Enjoyable at any roast level; medium to dark roast was our favorite. Medium roast points provide a smooth cup on the nutty/chocolaty side, sweet tea flavors and a hint of citric. A little herbal spice lingers in the aftertaste but very mild comparatively to most Africans. Darker roasts add complimenting roasty notes, a sweet burnt sugar and chocolaty cup that is jazzed up with a little spice, lower acidity and a fuller body. A nice and clean taste, good from light to dark. Mostly these beans will appeal to medium-dark roast fans but being an exceptionally clean cup, it has some lovely balance and is quite tasty at lighter roasts. Similar to its Indonesian cousins (except washed processed), it gets real hefty into the dark roasts promoting smoky and chocolaty tones with stronger spice notes. Lighter roasting it is more delicate and floral, slightly fruity with some detectable lemony crispness, sweet edged, medium bodied with hints of a chocolaty factor.

A wonderful old world natural filled with rustic chocolate, spice and hints of fruitiness. The cup is lower acidity with good body and mouthfeel. Yemen coffees are the rare cup where you can occasionally see a “banana” like fruit tone – don’t worry though, its a little bit of a reach for banana, its not like eating a banana or banana flavored coffee, although with developed tongue, most can pick it up. Red fruit and bakers chocolate are the dominate tones – fruit is accentuated with lighter roasts, chocolaty with darker roasts. A lovely super complex old world natural.
