Medium to full-bodied and sweet, this is one robust cup of coffee. It has a lovely aroma of cinnamon and dark fruits with notes of incense—hints of dry herb and chocolaty spice with just a smidgen of traditional Sumatra peat moss/smokiness. Generally considered a fuller roast coffee, can get a bit grassy and light roast levels but blossoms into chocolate, spice and earth, at fuller roast levels. A very low acidity cup.

Best from the lighter side of a medium roast to as dark as you want to go. A bit cleaner tasting but slightly less fruity than previous seasons. Lighter roasting presents some nice honey processed features: citric, floral, soft fruit with an almost oak/peat like finish, sweet & complex but does risk some underdeveloped tones if you nail it a little too light. Medium roasts were our favorite, still balanced and complex but will develop the traditional chocolate and smoky tones for which Dominican coffees are known for – to balance out those more exotic fruity and citric tones. Darker roasts are a little more complex than on the washed processed version, but not as smooth and rich.Price: $9.49/lb - 8.29/lbPrice: $9.49 -

A lovely slightly-exotic daily drinker. Light to medium roasts are preferred with our favorite roast being right in the middle of the cracks. Lighter roasts have a hint of floral/citric acidity with just a touch of sweet and delicate red fruit coming from the honey processing. A bit on the nutty/chocolaty side for its balance, starts as a dry nutty at very light roasts, turns more chocolaty as the roast gets darker.A little front loaded with the more acidic and fruity tones at traditional light roasts. Medium roasts have better balance between light an dark tones cutting out some acidity; smooth, rich and sweet edged. Dark roast loses the more exotic acidity and fruity edge but turns very thick, nutty, semi-sweet chocolaty with smoky accents.

A very rich, strong and smooth cup. A cousin to Sumatra or Sulawesi coffee; Blue Moon always is a bit smoother without as much peaty earthiness, or swampy fruit. A sweeter cup for an Indo with malt, chocolate with a little traditional earthy terroir of the wet-hulled Indonesians. Fuller bodied, a little hint of acidity at a medium roast, a definite go to for our strong-medium or dark roasts here at Burman Coffee. Pulls some molasses undertones as ones pushes into second crack roasts. Hints of slight smoky tone at darker roast.

Full bodied and darker toned like a Sumatra. Chocolaty, a bit of smoke and a very nice soft fruit tones balancing in. Light roasts will see just a little hint of citric acidity, soft cup and semi earthy chocolaty tones, good but risks a little grassy tone like many wet-hulled coffees, more interesting than most Sumatra coffees with its sweeter hint of soft fruit. Medium roasts shine very nicely, good balance of light and dark tones; lower acidity smooth cup. Darker roast get a little fuller bodied, much smokier with a more bakers chocolate spin. A wonderful super fresh Sumatra arrival!
A very clean traditional Sumatra cup. Best from medium to dark roasts. Fuller bodied with some nice exotic incense spice notes intermingled with a bakers chocolate and smoky cup profile. Light roast are not recommended (for almost all Indo coffees). Medium roasts were nice and balanced, a little lemony acidity upfront mixing with a bunch of spice and hints of an earthy slightly peaty chocolaty factor; a decent roast point for pour-overs or drip. Wet-hulled coffees are seldom tasty at light roast levels, generally just grassy and earthy. From medium to dark they are fuller bodied, low acidity and darker toned, with a predominately chocolaty cup profile. Very classic tasting Sumatra stronger on the peat like tones and spice notes. A little sweet floral upfront and smoky in the aftertaste. Best from a medium to dark roast, wet-hulled coffees are not light roast coffees no matter how premium of an offering. Hints of citric crispness and soft fruit with a little sweeter chocolate edge, pulls some balance with some earthy spice (the good kind). Very clean cup for a Sumatra that is drinkable and balanced from a medium roast and beyond. The darker you roast, the fuller the body gets along with reducing any hints of acidity. Into second crack will turn more into a chocolaty spice noted treat but will reduce the sweeter edge. Picks up some complimenting roasty and smoky tones into the more bakers chocolaty cup profile.

A nice medium to dark roast more potent Nicaraguan offering. Medium to full bodied with just a little hint of acidity. Strong Medium roasts were our favorite with thicker more complex malty tones, a sweet edge, hints of herbal spice and almost no acidity, a good daily drinker being very smooth. A wonderful light to medium roast coffee. Leans a bit more towards a washed processed coffee than natural. A very clean, sweet and delicate cup with medium to low acidity: chocolate, spice, tea and fruit tones comingle nicely at the different roast levels. Lighter roasts show just a small pinch of citric and fruit comingling with complex tea like undertones, a fuller body and sweeter edge. Medium roasts mute much of the tea like spice turning the cup more chocolaty and semi-sweet, hints of fruit as the cup cools but hardly noticeable while hot. Darker roasts are more of a semi-sweet chocolate bomb, could be a bit much without a splash of milk but works wonderfully for espresso or cold brew at the fuller roast levels.
