Medium to full-bodied and sweet, this is one robust cup of coffee. It has a lovely aroma of cinnamon and dark fruits with notes of incense—hints of dry herb and chocolaty spice with just a smidgen of traditional Sumatra peat moss/smokiness. Generally considered a fuller roast coffee, can get a bit grassy and light roast levels but blossoms into chocolate, spice and earth, at fuller roast levels. A very low acidity cup.

A great cup from light to dark. Medium to full bodied, with medium to low acidity. Lighter roasts are sweet and clean, hints of citric that will pull some balance with a nutty/caramel/spice like darker tone. A bit thicker and more neutral tasting than the regular flat bean. Does have some crisp acidity at the light to medium roast points. Medium roasts are a bit fuller bodied and smoother: cuts out the citric tones. A bit more spice noticeable in the cup making its Indian roots more apparent. Indian Mysore Nuggets has been a favorite of Burman Coffee and customers for many years and this crop does not disappoint. The aroma is nutty, woody, and some slight smokiness. Many of the notes in the aroma come through in the flavor like walnuts and some smoke. There’s dark fruit, oak, licorice, and some vanilla spice, like a good dry red wine. The finish has a subdued brightness to it with just hints of lemon zest at lighter roast points. The body is medium to full depending on roast and brew. There’s a reason people keep coming back to this bean. It’s a smooth all around great stronger cup of coffee.

A very rich, strong and smooth cup. A cousin to Sumatra or Sulawesi coffee; Blue Moon always is a bit smoother without as much peaty earthiness, or swampy fruit. A sweeter cup for an Indo with malt, chocolate with a little traditional earthy terroir of the wet-hulled Indonesians. Fuller bodied, a little hint of acidity at a medium roast, a definite go to for our strong-medium or dark roasts here at Burman Coffee. Pulls some molasses undertones as ones pushes into second crack roasts. Hints of slight smoky tone at darker roast.

Good from light to dark although we thought it best at a nice medium roast. Crisp tones, slight citrus/fruit note and a fuller bodied rustic chocolaty factor to balance it off. Sweet and clean, this is a stronger cup of a coffee! Just a bit of the classic Indo earthiness, I might link this coffee closer to an exotic Colombian than an Indo (which is way cool). Very nice rich chocolate tones (a little sweet malt/caramel as it cools) adds to the mix of delicate flavors present in this cup. A slight smoky aftertaste can be picked up at the darker roast points. Full bodied and darker toned like a Sumatra. Chocolaty, a bit of smoke and a very nice soft fruit tones balancing in. Light roasts will see just a little hint of citric acidity, soft cup and semi earthy chocolaty tones, good but risks a little grassy tone like many wet-hulled coffees, more interesting than most Sumatra coffees with its sweeter hint of soft fruit. Medium roasts shine very nicely, good balance of light and dark tones; lower acidity smooth cup. Darker roast get a little fuller bodied, much smokier with a more bakers chocolate spin. A very clean traditional Sumatra cup. Best from medium to dark roasts. Fuller bodied with some nice exotic incense spice notes intermingled with a bakers chocolate and smoky cup profile. Light roast are not recommended (for almost all Indo coffees). Medium roasts were nice and balanced, a little lemony acidity upfront mixing with a bunch of spice and hints of an earthy slightly peaty chocolaty factor; a decent roast point for pour-overs or drip. Darker roasts were fuller bodied and very smoky with the spice lingering in the aftertaste, very low acidity; good for dark roast fans, espresso or blend bases.

Medium to dark roast beans & a great daily drinker! This cup is very thick and creamy, filled with semi-sweet chocolate and nutty tones. A very easy to drink coffee. A hint of soft fruit can be seen at the light to medium roasts but pretty faint, not super noticeable until the cup cools. A bit of peppery spice at the darker roasts with some complimenting roasty and smoky tones. Lighter roasts will show some lemony acidity and can accentuate the fruitiness of the cup but often will come off a bit too dry.
