Description
Produced from meticulously selected premium beans with excellent physical preparation, this coffee offers exceptional potential to retain its rich flavor once decaffeinated. During the gentle water process, the green coffee is pre-soaked to naturally expand the beans for caffeine extraction. The hydrated coffee is then introduced to a unique solution of concentrated coffee solubles that draws out the caffeine while minimizing the loss of crucial flavor compounds. Once the caffeine is removed, the green coffee is carefully re-dried and re-bagged for transport, and the extract solution is filtered of its caffeine and sustainably recycled for future use.
Tasting Notes: A beautifully balanced, lower-acidity cup that leans toward the sweeter side. The taste features a full-bodied, smooth profile where rich chocolaty tones seamlessly mix with roasted walnut, leading to a mellow, sweet finish. Lighter roasts can reveal delicate floral hints, while darker roast points finish off this great Colombian coffee with pleasing, warm notes of smoke and spice.
Roasting Notes: Like all great Colombian coffees, this is an incredibly versatile bean for roasting. Darker roasts convey wonderful smoky tones and outstanding deep sweetness, while lighter roasts (with decaf, avoid cinnamon roast points) will deliver a crisper cup. This is a fantastic coffee to experiment with at different roast levels to fully experience everything this bean has to offer.

I love a good medium-dark or dark roast espresso, and while I normally only drink my first (caffeinated) shot of the day as an espresso, this decaf is so good that I have had multiple roasts with it where I will drink at least one shot as an espresso because it’s so good. Typically, I order my decaf beans expecting to make an Americano with the espresso, and this is great for that, and probably my favorite decaf of 2025.
