Regular Price 6.25/Lb

Very cool wild toned coffee. A bit higher acidity with a sweet start to the cup. Floral and soft fruit are the first tones to hit the tongue. Fading into a smooth malty tone and ending pretty bakers chocolaty.

Description

Sourced from an estate located in the Karatu district, Tanzania. The lowest and highest elevations in all of Africa, the floor of Lake Tanganyika (352 meters below sea level) and Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters above sea level) are both located in Tanzania. The Karatu estate is located between these commanding landmarks, with 250 acres of coffee cultivated on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater, which is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  More than 25,000 wild animals, including the largest population of lions, make their home within the crater walls.  The Karatu estate has 50 permanent employees and 200 seasonal employees during the harvest. The rounder shaped peaberry, formed from the maturation of one seed per cherry rather than the typical two seeds, is meticulously sorted during the milling process for its distinct flavor profiles.

Tasting Notes:
Very cool wild toned coffee. A bit higher acidity with a sweet start to the cup. Floral and soft fruit are the first tones to hit the tongue. Fading into a smooth malty tone and ending pretty bakers chocolaty.

Roasting Notes: Good from light to dark. Pretty sizzling at the lighter roast points. Awesome balance at a city plus to full city and very full bodied and strong smoky/chocolaty like tones, a little bitter at the dark roasts.

Exactly as Burman tasting notes. However I did not roast as dark as to get the bakers chocolaty notes. Great coffees as always.
