During the harvest we receive dozens of tiny sample lots from trusted producers across Latin America and Africa. Rather than letting them sit on a shelf, we decided to share them with our customers. First we cup and evaluate every sample, then unite the best into what we call Mystery Blend—so named because the coffee comes from countless farms and countries, resulting in an outstanding, one‑of‑a‑kind mix.
This lot contains washed, honey, natural, and fruit co‑fermented coffees. The co‑fermented lots lend a subtle tropical lift—think ripe melon and sweet lemon—while the washed and honey components keep the cup clean and balanced. A fresh‑arrival, truly mysterious brew: bright, fun, and surprisingly versatile. Perfect as a single‑origin‑style cup, yet sturdy enough for adventurous espresso or cold‑brew blends.
Tasting Notes:A lively cup from light to dark. Light roasts sparkle with sweet lemon, ripe melon, and cherry over a silky caramel base. Medium roasts strike a perfect balance—medium acidity, creamy body, and a milk‑chocolate finish. Approaching second crack, the body deepens, revealing baker’s‑chocolate and molasses while a hint of tropical fruit lingers on the finish.
Roasting Notes:Roasts very evenly with minimal chaff. Delicious from light to dark; pushing to the edge of second crack produces a richer, more chocolaty cup. Allow lighter roasts to rest for a day or two to soften any bright citrus edges.
