How it works
Air (fluid-bed) roasting

(Light • Medium • Dark)
The vertical axis shows air temperature (°F) — a helpful reference for repeating profiles. Values are approximate and vary with voltage, batch size, and ambient conditions.
Light (City) — development 60–90 s
Dry end
First crack
Target
Light: stop 60–90 s after first crack. Use air temp as a guide.
Medium (City+ / Full City) — development 90–150 s
Dry end
First crack
Target
Medium: finish 90–150 s after first crack; step the fan down (9→8→7→6).
Dark (Full City+) — development 150–210 s
Dry end
First crack
Target
Dark: finish 150–210 s after first crack; vent well and keep beans moving.
Note: temperatures are SR800 air reference (not internal bean temp). Use them as guidance and prioritize color, sound, and bean movement.

FAQs
How much can I roast per batch?
Most users roast 6–8 oz. For naturals/high-chaff coffees, start at ≤6 oz.
Do I need ventilation?
Yes — especially for medium-dark roasts. Use a range hood or an open window.
What’s the difference vs SR540?
SR800 nearly doubles capacity and uses a taller, wider chamber while keeping 9/9 controls.
Will older SR lids/chaff baskets fit?
No. The SR800 chamber is wider; earlier SR accessories do not fit.
