A very clean and fresh batch from Selva Negra. A little citric & floral acidity upfront, balanced with nice complex nutty & malty undertones. Light roasts are going to be a little front loaded with the brighter characteristics, a higher rated cup meaning one will notice some decent crisp acidity at the light-medium roasts. Will give great depth of flavor but may be a little sharp for some. Our favorite roast and a great everyday drinker was in the medium roast ballpark, builds more of a smooth and creamy cup with a sweet edge, reducing that perceived acidity to just a pinch. Turns much stronger, a robust cup most would say, into the darker roasts but shined nicely; fuller bodied with strong malty and smoky tones, still a sweeter edge to it which darker roast fans will love.Price:Price: Original price was: $8.49.$7.29Current price is: $7.29.$8.49/lb$7.29/lb -

Rich and chocolaty, Tanz coffee is always high on our go to list for stronger chocolaty darker roast coffee. At the medium roasts one will see a more gentle cup with good body, a little sweeter edge, hints of acidity and stronger chocolaty spice. Darker roasts get much fuller bodied and bring out the very strong bakers chocolate edge balancing nicely with classic African spice note and complimenting roasty/smoky tones. Lighter roasts will show crisp lemony acidity with more of a caramel/chocolate spin but can be pretty sharp.

Very fresh and tasty from light to dark roasts. Too see them shine, we do recommend a light to medium but there are reasons we can think of to take it darker. A complex, full flavored cup, which is why many think of Kenya as the top origin for high class beans. Lighter roasts are bright with stronger citric notes and hints of fruit, will pull a darker toned balance with a semi-herbal, green tea like component. Medium bodied, higher acidity with awesome depth of flavor. Medium roasts tame some of the bright characteristics, not as citric, promotes the body of the cup and turns the darker tones more chocolaty than herbal. Still retains good balance and depth but is not nearly as punchy with its tastes. Darker roasts around or into second crack will mute most of the citric and crisper tones, very strong and stout like semi-sweet chocolate notes, a hint of complimenting roasty/smoky that and will end with a bit of lingering spice in the aftertaste.
