Medium to full-bodied and sweet, this is one robust cup of coffee. It has a lovely aroma of cinnamon and dark fruits with notes of incense—hints of dry herb and chocolaty spice with just a smidgen of traditional Sumatra peat moss/smokiness. Generally considered a fuller roast coffee, can get a bit grassy and light roast levels but blossoms into chocolate, spice and earth, at fuller roast levels. A very low acidity cup.

Crisp, clean, sweet and very highly rated, a fun treat for any Ethiopian fan. Light roasting is recommended to see the cup shine but hard to find a bad roast point. Lighter roasts are where you will see the cleanliness of the cup, balanced tones with good mouthfeel and hardly a hint of anything grassy or vegetal. It will have some decent brightness, lemony with just a pinch of peachy like fruitiness. The aromatics are unique being overly floral with some classic Ethiopian hints of lavender/jasmine. The lighter tones pull some balance with the classic tea (herbal/spice) like darker tones. Medium roasts really mellow out the acidity and reduce the citric & floral tastes, creates a bit more body and a much more recognizable chocolaty factor. A very smooth, balanced and rich cup with exotic highlights. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Washed Org. Gr. 1 – Adame Garbota – Single Producer: Desta Golo
A wonderful example of a darker toned, lower acidity Ethiopian. We thought best from medium to dark roasts but it will still find fans at lighter roast points. Lighter roasts will have some buzzy acidity and just a hint of lemon/floral balanced with smooth and rich herbaceous spice notes. A bit more on the bergamot/dark-tea like Yirgacheffe profile. Medium roasts turn the herbaceous notes towards the chocolaty side moving the herbal/tea like tones to the aftertaste. A bit fuller bodied, lower acidity with complex darker tones. Dark roasts turn semi-sweet and even more chocolaty, the spice is readily noticeable and the body picks up a bit of a creamy factor, the roasty/smoky notes mix well with the darker toned profile of this bean but will not hold its sweet edge like most Ethiopians.

Best at light roast points. Very sweet, clean, delicate and floral coffee. Hints of sweet citric and soft fruit comingle with a very floral cup profile, pulls a little balance with a darker chocolate/malty/tea-like undertone. In our mind, Geisha coffee is all about the overly sweet cups and floral aromatics, these beans nail it. Hints of a tea like undertone can be found especially if you push the roast into the medium/dark category.
