Kayon Mountain has become a tradition around here, marks one of our favorite times of the year, new Ethiopian season! Beautiful coffee and screen.Clean, bright, sweet with a very diverse flavor set. Stone and darker fruit, citrus & floral, and spiced chocolate tones are the main flavors one can see in this cup, either accentuated or muted depending on roast level. Nice jammy body will be seen in the medium to borderline dark roast mark. Very dependent on roast – lighter roasting gives much more of the citrus, red-fruit with just a hint of a spicy chocolaty factor, a much dryer finish. Darker roasts produce much more of a bakers chocolate cup with a hint of a strawberry like fruit note and good sweetness, far less acidic. A very enjoyable cup from light to dark.

Lighter roasts will be more floral than chocolaty with some clear acidity, clean cup but enough acidity some might want to avoid lighter roast points. Medium roasts are well balanced with the floral/chocolaty with just a hint of some acidity, a little spice note pops out in the aftertaste. Clean, sweet, and floral with some stronger tea like attributes. Works well light to dark. Lighter roasting does have some acidity giving the cup a citric edge and sweeter floral/fruit notes but will not develop the depth to the darker tones that we loved with fuller roast levels. Hints of a black tea like dark tone and a soft fruit tone will pop out especially with some setup and as the cup cools. Medium to dark roasts will mellow the brightness considerably turning the cup darker toned with a fuller body, more about the spice notes and chocolaty factor. Smooth and easy drinking in the medium roast range while still maintaining hints of exotic acidity. Dark roasts promote a smoky edged rich semi-sweet chocolaty factor with tea like spice that lingers on the tongue in the aftertaste.Price:Price: $6.35$7.35/lb$6.35/lb -

Only 20 Pounds Left – Low Stock Blowout – $7.65 regular price. Great from medium to dark roasts. The cup is fuller bodied and a bit creamier, lower acidity and rich. At lighter roasts, a little acidity can be found which brings small notes of nutty, caramel and floral tones but it will have some pretty powerful black tea like spice notes almost similar to an African. Anything even into the medium roast range is very chocolaty and smooth with just a pinch of a spice note. Darker roasts get a bit fuller bodied and roasty with some nice smoky accents.

A very fresh and tasty Brazil! Lighter roasts show lemon, floral & soft fruit contrasted by a nuttier (almond like) undertone, a sweet edged cup. The two combine for a hints of caramel, quite tasty for you light roast fans. Medium roasts are richer, more of a developed chocolaty tone and decently less nutty; mutes up the soury floral edge, retains a little hint of soft fruit as the cup cools. Fairly neutral tasting and very chuggable. Darker promotes a thicker body and introduces a slightly bitter contrast that works very well for espresso.

A lovely slightly-exotic daily drinker. Light to medium roasts are preferred with our favorite roast being right in the middle of the cracks. Lighter roasts have a hint of floral/citric acidity with just a touch of sweet and delicate red fruit coming from the honey processing. A bit on the nutty/chocolaty side for its balance, starts as a dry nutty at very light roasts, turns more chocolaty as the roast gets darker.A little front loaded with the more acidic and fruity tones at traditional light roasts. Medium roasts have better balance between light an dark tones cutting out some acidity; smooth, rich, sweet edged. Dark roast loses the more exotic acidity and fruity edge but turns very thick, nutty, semi-sweet chocolaty with smoky accents.

Lighter roasts are brighter, sweeter and more floral, balanced with hints of dryer, nutty undertones. Medium roasts had the best balance, smooth with a slight chocolaty edge and pronounced nuttiness in the aftertaste, just a hint of crispness to the cup. A very nice medium to dark roast decaf. Medium roasts are a much smoother cup, a little sweet edge, nutty, with a touch of chocolate. Has a little floral overtone that makes it a bit interesting. Fuller bodied with a richer chocolate tone closer to 2nd crack. Some smokiness at second crack or into but retains its smooth and rich character. Decaf Mexican is always one of my favorite beans to get a nice and strong chocolaty note in the decafs. Beautiful prep on the beans & a good cup from light to dark. Our favorite was right in the middle, a nice medium roast won everyone over. A good daily drinker with an exotic spin. Lighter roasts will show some crisp lemony acidity, a sweet edge and will pull a little balance with an herbal/spice chocolate note. Medium roasts (our favorite) were smooth and rich, a bit fuller bodied, just a spec of that sweet citrus upfront, low acidity with predominantly chocolate/malt like tastes, a little spice pokes out in the aftertaste. Besides a chocolaty factor one will get some nuttier characteristics with a little hint of an herbal spice.
