A very nicely balanced cup of coffee. A little hint of acidity upfront providing some floral and soft fruit at the lighter roasts, balanced with a semi-sweet nutty chocolaty factor. Super light roasts risk a little grassy/herbal but it straightens out at a city+ (medium) and holds up as dark as you want to take it. The darker you go, the more body and edgy chocolate the cup will pick up, once you hit 2nd crack, expect some smoke and roasty tones to compliment the nutty/chocolaty factor.

I always love the Kona profile. We thought these beans to shine from a medium to dark roast. Lighter roasting will produce hints of a fruity island acidity balanced with a chocolaty/nutty undertone, jazzed up with a hint of herbal spice in the aftertaste. As the roast progresses the cup gets pretty low acidity and the nutty and chocolaty factor will get accentuated. Close or into 2nd crack you will get some added smoky and roasty notes that will compliment the sweeter cup profile.

Great everyday drinker at a medium roast, balanced with a sweet edge. A heftier cup at the darker roasts and equally as tasty, fuller bodied with strong malty and smoky tones but still retains that sweeter edge to it.

Hints of sweet citric and soft fruit comingle with a very floral cup profile, pulls a little balance with a darker chocolate/malty/tea-like undertone. In our mind, Geisha coffee is all about the overly sweet cups and floral aromatics, these beans nail it. Hints of a tea like undertone can be found especially if you push the roast into the medium/dark category.

Good from light to dark. In general, the strongest offering out of the three, smooth, big bodied & creamy with semi-sweet chocolate notes, nutty accents and a bit of lingering spice in the aftertaste. Lighter roasting will show some stronger citric acidity comingling with stronger herbal notes, a hint of chocolate, good depth of flavors but will be a bit sharp and herbal for most. Medium roasting gets the fuller body and more chocolaty toned cup with a hint of spice, unlike the other two, this will still have a little hint of citric, leaving it a bit sweeter tasting. Darker roasting gets hefty bakers chocolate note with complimenting roasty notes, no signs of the brighter cup profile at lighter roasts. Although it’s the brighter of the PNG coffees, it has medium to low acidity comparatively to other origins.
