Medium to full-bodied and sweet, this is one robust cup of coffee. It has a lovely aroma of cinnamon and dark fruits with notes of incense—hints of dry herb and chocolaty spice with just a smidgen of traditional Sumatra peat moss/smokiness. Generally considered a fuller roast coffee, can get a bit grassy and light roast levels but blossoms into chocolate, spice and earth, at fuller roast levels. A very low acidity cup.

A very rich, strong and smooth cup. A cousin to Sumatra or Sulawesi coffee; Blue Moon always is a bit smoother without as much peaty earthiness, or swampy fruit. A sweeter cup for an Indo with malt, chocolate with a little traditional earthy terroir of the wet-hulled Indonesians. Fuller bodied, a little hint of acidity at a medium roast, a definite go to for our strong-medium or dark roasts here at Burman Coffee. Pulls some molasses undertones as ones pushes into second crack roasts. Indonesian Sumatra Gr. 1 – Mandheling
A very clean traditional Sumatra cup. Best from medium to dark roasts. Fuller bodied with some nice exotic incense spice notes intermingled with a bakers chocolate and smoky cup profile. Light roast are not recommended (for almost all Indo coffees). Medium roasts were nice and balanced, a little lemony acidity upfront mixing with a bunch of spice and hints of an earthy slightly peaty chocolaty factor; a decent roast point for pour-overs or drip. Darker roasts were fuller bodied and very smoky with the spice lingering in the aftertaste, very low acidity; good for dark roast fans, espresso or blend bases.
