A super cool & exotic cup of Kona. Higher acidity with strong tones of citrus, floral and red fruit. Very wild up front balanced with a sweet chocolaty caramel like tone. A little different than last years batch with the higher acidity levels but just as tasty in my mind. Lighter roasts are front loaded with the floral and fruit tones; tasty but you have to like acidity. A very clean, well balanced cup, best from medium to dark roast. Crisp acidity with a small hint of soft fruit comingle with a more chocolaty cup profile. Can be roasted from light to dark but our favorite was a nice medium roast, followed by the darker roast. Lighter roasts: the acidity is a bit citrus upfront but will quickly fade into a slight island fruit tone, balances with a little herbal/chocolate contrast. From a medium roast on, the acidity is very gentle and balanced with a smooth to rough chocolaty cup profile, milk chocolate before 2nd crack, bakers chocolate and smoky into 2nd crack. Medium bodied and lower acidity, these beans as well as other Kona’s are mild cups comparatively to many other origins, be in for a delicate and tasty cup with layers of goodness.

A cool cup from medium to dark. There are some sweet island floral tones upfront at the lighter roasts, a sweet edge with unique spice; somewhere between a woody cinnamon to more peppery/clove. Wonderful aromatics accompany lighter roasts but could be a little too grassy/sharp for some. Medium roasts are more chocolaty, balancing with the spice nicely, less woody, more bold semi-sweet clove like spice.
