The state of Narino really produces that classic Colombian profile. Fuller bodied and darker toned with low acidity, the main tones coming from this cup will be toasted walnut mixing with a chocolaty undertone. A little bit of acidity can be found at light roast points but we recommend a medium to dark roast on this bean.
A unique African offering. Reminds me of an Indonesian Sulawesi almost more than other African coffees. Low acidity and full-bodied. It has a very sweet versus earthy contrast. The earthy is more of a mushroom herbal-like tone that balances well with a strong bakers chocolate undertone. As the cup cools, a little pleasant nuttiness comes out in the aftertaste.
This was a crazy cup – tones I would not have expected to be in these beans – but very tasty and hard to tell it was a decaf. A little hint of acidity upfront with a very herbal chocolate tone and some decent sweetness.
