Description
Bella Carmona is a regional blend from Antigua made with cherries from 18 farms managed by Luis Pedro Zelaya (LPZ) and processed at the Bella Vista mill. Located in Sacatepéquez, Antigua (Guatemala) is perhaps the most famous region in Guatemala and has the “Genuino Antigua” Designation of Origin, administered by APCA (Association of Origins of Antigua), which protects the region’s origins and raises quality standards. It is also known as a valley of highly volcanic soils surrounded by the Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango volcanoes.
Bella Carmona is a historic brand linked to the Zelaya family; today, LPZ manages the Bella Vista mill (wet and dry) and coordinates its own and partner farms with profit-sharing agreements. Its Bella Carmona and Hunapú brands are among the most recognized in Central America for their consistent quality.
Tasting notes: Nougat profile, baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), and dark chocolate; silky texture and sweet finish. It’s the classic expression of the Antigua Valley: chocolatey and spicy, with moderate brightness.
Roast Notes: Medium: best balances caramel/nougat sweetness and spicy notes. Medium-Dark: fuller body and more pronounced dark chocolate, low acidity. Light: may show a citrus/floral note typical of the region, but with less chocolate.
