Description
Honduras Siguatepeque is sourced from members of Asociación Civil Cultivadores del Reino (ACCR), which was formed in 2004, and currently has 177 members. On average, each producer cultivates 3 hectares of land with a diversity of crops including coffee. ACCR provides training and financing aimed at improving coffee quality and yields to increase farmer earnings. ACCR also invests in infrastructure such as patios and solar dryers to improve drying processes. At the end of each coffee harvest, ACCR also shares profits with all of its members.
Tasting Notes:
This cup very smooth, rich and clean – fuller bodied and lower acidity the main tone is going to be pretty chocolaty – a deep semi-sweet chocolate note balanced with just a hint of a floral aspect, especially at the darker roasts it gets a little smoky and has a little sweet malt tone mixing with the chocolaty factor. This Honduran is a sweet, balanced coffee with a nice spice note and slight wineyness at the lighter roasts.
A very nice single origin breakfast coffee – smooth, mellow and chocolaty a great cup to wake up to.
Roasting Notes:
An easy and versatile coffee to roast, medium to dark. A faster roast will highlight the bright, clean flavor notes.
