(4 customer reviews)

A great gentle and smooth cup of coffee. Low acidity cup, one can see a little floral acidity at the lighter roast points, but in general it will be smooth, medium bodied, chocolaty and very low acidity. Most will like these beans from a nice medium roast to a little bit on the darker side. A cup almost everyone will like and a good everyday drinker.

Description

A very nice arrival to kick off the new Peru season. The Norte Peru has been a real big hit the last couple of years and this cup is just as tasty as it has been in the past.

Coming from family owned farms organized around the CENFROCAFE co-op, which is an umbrella cooperative established in 1999 that supports 80 organizations and 2,000 coffee producers in the region of Majorca, Peru. CENFROCAFE provides training and financing aimed at improving coffee quality and yields to increase farmer earnings.

Tasting Notes:
A great gentle and smooth cup of coffee. Low acidity cup, one can see a little floral at the lighter roast points but in general it will be smooth, medium bodied, chocolaty with low acidity and a bit sweeter edge. Most will like these beans from a nice medium roast to a little bit on the darker side. A cup almost everyone will like and a good everyday drinker.

Roasting Notes:
Easy to roast, avoid super light roasts or you will get front-loaded floral/grassy tones that taste a bit unbalanced. City + to Full City roasts are  great and will maximize the sweet and smooth tones. Darker and it turns more semi-sweet chocolate based with very minimal acidity, a little more body and adds a hint of smoke.

I love this coffee it is easy to roast came out evenly roasted and is really delicious. I have been home roasting for 20 years. I am game to try a lot of different coffee. Peru is not a common buy for me. But maybe should be. This coffee is smooth and chocolatey. Like coffee flavored hot chocolate. Great this time of year.

City to city+, fairly even roast, no oily beans. Some dark fruit with peppery notes in the aroma. Slightly acidic (dry) with a hint of caramel, maybe some chocolate but not much. My first impression was of a milder Papua New Guinea…? Not bad, it IS fresh roasted coffee.

Wonderful and easy to roast! Too bad they are out of stock

      Glad you like it!

Next batch of Norte should hit in 4-8 weeks.

In the meantime, we will be firing up a Peru Org Villa Rica. Different but equally as tasty.

Just roasted the newest lot of the Peru Norte. Distinguishing marks are good body, low acidity and lots of chocolate at medium to dark roasts. I think it makes a great blender with other complementary Latin coffees, eg, a nice nutty Brazil Natural and a Washed Mexico with the Peru Norte roasted just into 2nd crack yielded a massive chocolate bomb that was super popular at my house.
