This is something anyone with the older SR models FreshRoast will want. Works wonderfully, we really think this turns the older SR models into new machines! Please make sure to read through all the details below.
This is a great new product for any FreshRoast SR 300, 340, 500, 700. It is a glass insert for the existing roast chamber that provides a greater batch size and better bean rotation allowing for more versatile roasting.
This insert will not work with the new FreshRoast SR 540 or SR 800.
THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE A ROAST CHAMBER – it is just the new insert for your existing roast chamber. If you need a new roast chamber, they can be found here.

The extension tube works great — just like the video shows. I suppose I’ll have to re-learn my favorite fan and temperature settings, but that’s all part of the fun.

Turns an OK roaster into a Fantastic roaster. Big Improvement as it makes the SR500 resonate the coffee, completely separating the chaff, lift & float beans into the upper chamber and kind of pulsate the whole hot air bed stack. No scorched beans & obtain even roasts that are controllable with temperatures and air flow. Complements to the inventor & Mr. Burman as the Extension provides a significant improvement; well worth the money. Following the mounting instructions, Extension seems pretty stable and encountered no issues. However, being glass, might want to use a potholder to comfortably handle the hot assembly when roast is complete. Suggesting to watch the site’s video. I set my roaster for 7 minutes, going 2 min Low (fan max), 1 min Medium, then 4 min High (with fan turned down slightly to about 3/4) yielding an awesome medium roast level. My preference is to roast & blend separately: Costa Rica or Guatemala, Columbia, and Kenya or Ethiopia. Great hobby and even greater coffee.

A MUST HAVE if you have this roaster! 50% higher production, drastic air flow increase, eliminates the need for a larger roaster! Only thing to watch is I reduced my roast time about 20 seconds due to the increased mass!

I’d rate this a 10 star if there were that many. I have the bottom of the line 300 roaster, but now it’s like a top of the line. Takes a minute or 2 longer to roast but at double the volume. Gasket and o ring hold it in place where there is no wobble. It will force smaller beans into the vents on top so you have to watch your fan speed. For under $30, I have an upgraded machine. My FreshRoast has never worked this well! Its like a new machine. The beans are lofted into the upper chamber and roasted very evenly. I bought this to increase my yield a bit, but little did I know that it is the way that this machine should have been engineered in the first place. If you have a FreshRoast, you NEED this extension tube!
I am using four scoops instead of three that I used before.

I received the extension tube yesterday and was able to roast 2 batches of beans this morning. It was so nice to roast
7 ounces of beans at once. They turned out great! This product is a great add-on that makes my SR500 better.
