Description
Located in the southwestern cloud-forest mountains of China, Yunnan province is the original home of the tea tree – in the wild, what we know as “bushes” can grow up to 30 feet tall! Yunnan black tea is easily identified by its abundance of soft golden tips, and savory cocoa and black pepper flavors. It is a very forgiving tea; will not taste bitter when over-steeped.
Small, tightly rolled leaves with golden tips produce a dark, sweet and fragrant cup. This tea has a rich and savory flavor, with a slight cocoa powder finish. Earthy and spicy and soft, smooth mouthfeel and finish. Yunnan Jig leaves make for an exceptional milk-and-sugar breakfast cup, or a fantastic iced tea. Classic Yunnan.
