“Moroccan Mint” Green BCT Blend
Now a new recipe, blended right here at BCT! Moroccan Mint is extra cooling, making a wonderfully revitalizing iced tea for sweltering summer afternoons!
A premium-quality interpretation of a classic North African preparation, this “double-mint” green tea will demand your attention with a strong amber cup bursting with flavor. Our new recipe uses a high-quality green tea, more nuanced than the previous, but still bright and hardy, holding its own against powerful mints.
And this tea is a treat for all the senses! The tiny tea pellets unfold and dance in the teapot as they infuse astringent and bright green tones. The heady mint aroma is noticeable immediately. Two kinds of mint create a complex profile, and this blend is generous with both spearmint and peppermint – when sipped this tea produces a great cooling effect on the palate and the entire body.
Traditionally, Moroccan mint tea is boiled with generous handfuls of fresh mint and plenty of sugar, poured from high up into small glasses (to improve aeration and flavor!), and ceremoniously served to guests in three rounds – each with a distinct flavor profile, as described in this saying, “The first glass is as gentle as life, the second is as strong as love, the third is as bitter as death.” And it is a staple of daily public life – throughout the Muslim world, tea bars provide social spaces similar to pubs.
This tea is at its best with sugar, you may also enjoy it with honey. Try it iced with lemon and a few fresh mint leaves, a perfect summer refreshment.

Chinese Jasmine Pearls Green Tea
Jasmine Phoenix Pearls are perfumy, hand-rolled jewels of tea from Fuding, in Fujian province, China. Any fan of jasmine tea should try this specially crafted wonder. When added to hot water, Jasmine Phoenix Pearls majestically unfurl, releasing their delicate scent and flavor. Also known as ‘Jasmine Dragon Pearls’, their liquor is sweet and almost sugary. Very soft, airy mouthfeel. The delicate quality of the flavor is due in part to the leaves used to produce this tea: two tender, tiny new leaves and one plump unopened leaf bud. Younger leaves will yield softer flavor.
Steep gently for best results.
Steeping Time – 2-3 Minutes
Water Temp – 195
Whole leaf green tea, jasmine blossoms.
Chinese “Dragon Well” Org. Special Green
Astringent and spicy, complemented by a mildly sweet and buttery body, the bamboo and bean sprout tones of this tea taste like good health and wellness!
The hand-produced leaves are bright green, and because they are unrolled, very light and airy. The liquor they produce is similarly green, light – you may want to use more leaves – and bright, with pleasant hay aroma and superb classic “green” flavor.
Pan-roasted green tea from Lung Ching is renowned throughout the world. Lung Ching is literally translated as “Dragon Well,” the name of a famous spring in the area. There are many legends surrounding this tea, and the leaves of the so-called “18 original tea bushes” are annually sold for a higher price per gram than gold!
Steeping Time – 2-3 Minutes
Water Temp – 180 F
Organic whole leaf green tea.
