Great from light to dark. A nice and clean cup with lower acidity and a good creamy mouthfeel. Smooth and rich tasting with a predominately nutty and chocolaty cup profile. Description

A great super fresh Huila offering. The Huila profile is a tasty one, big bodied and buttery textured with some classic nutty and chocolaty tones. This is a great example everyone should love.

Coffee cultivation from small family owned farms is the backbone of production in Colombia. Banexport,  the Colombian export company behind thee beans, works with many small producers who have a shared commitment for exquisite coffee processing and loving care for their farms and the environment. The model of collaborative effort produces traceable community blends with vibrant regional profiles.

Tasting Notes: Great from light to dark. A nice and clean cup with lower acidity and a good creamy mouthfeel. Smooth and rich tasting with a predominately nutty and chocolaty cup profile. Shows just a little hint of acidity, citrus/floral, at the lighter roasting points. A bit sweeter upfront until you hit the very dark roast levels. Roasty notes compliment the cup profile and it holds darker roasts nicely.

Roasting Notes: Easy to roast and good almost anywhere. The big bodied and more buttery texture will come from a strong medium roast to slightly darker roast. Lighter roast can show just a hint of a citric acidity, dark roasts can get semi-sweet with a much strong dry walnut like tone.

This lot comes from 5 producers (Fanny Majin Quinayas, Jairo Quiñones Quinayas, Jose Edgar Moreno Guacaname, Yubert Castro Claros, Yeison Andres Cordoba Rodriguez) with farms in the municipality of Palestina within the department of Huila. Each producer has their own micro-mill where they carefully harvest cherries, depulp, ferment, wash and gently dry the parchment on raised beds. While individual producers have designed farm management and post-harvest solutions to fit their needs, the strong alliance with Banexport brings their coffee to the international market and improves earnings for everyone, which means there is more money to reinvest in their farm and strengthen their families’ livelihoods.
